not in your social network. You will be able to search them by
typing in their names, groups, events, interests, gender,
relationship status, etc. You get the idea. On the search page,
you can specify whether you are looking for everything, names,
groups, events, or information within profiles. Once you get
your results, you can further limit what is displayed. Just use
the filters available on the right side of the page to target
your results.
Friends. You can invite anyone that you can see
on the site to be your friend. Just use the "Facebook Search" to
find people you know and then click on the "Add to Friends"
button on the right side of the screen. A friend request will be
sent to that person. Once they confirm that they actually are
friends with you, they will show up on your Friends List.

simply go to the My Friends page and click on the link for "How
do you know..."
